How We Work
Working with EvidenceBridge is a collaborative, transparent process. Whether you are bringing us a single manuscript or a multi-year program evaluation, we want you to know exactly what to expect from day one.
Every engagement is different, but our process follows the same five steps.
1. Discovery Call
Free, 30 minutes, no obligation.
You reach out through our contact form or scheduling link, and we set up a brief call within 48 hours. This is a conversation, not a sales pitch. We want to understand what you are working on, what you need, and what success looks like for you.
By the end of the call, you will have a clear sense of whether EvidenceBridge is the right fit, and if we are not the right fit, we will tell you and, where we can, point you toward someone who is.
2. Scoping and Proposal
After the discovery call, we develop a proposal tailored to your project. Depending on the nature of the work, this may take the form of:
- A fixed-price package for defined deliverables (e.g., a manuscript edit, a grant proposal review, a tenure dossier preparation)
- An hourly arrangement for open-ended advisory or coaching work
- A custom proposal for larger research or evaluation engagements with multiple phases and deliverables
You will receive a clear scope of work, timeline, and pricing in writing. Nothing moves forward until you have had time to review, ask questions, and confirm the fit.
3. Kickoff and Agreement
Once the proposal is approved, we formalize the engagement with a simple agreement and kickoff meeting. At kickoff, we align on:
- Project goals and deliverables
- Timeline and key milestones
- Communication preferences and check-in cadence
- What we need from you, and what you can expect from us
This is where we establish the working relationship. Our clients tell us they appreciate how much clarity this step provides, especially for those who have had consulting experiences that felt vague or transactional.
4. Active Collaboration
This is the heart of the work. Depending on the engagement, active collaboration may look like:
- Developmental editing rounds on a dissertation or manuscript
- Drafting sessions and iterative feedback on a grant proposal
- Evaluation design workshops, instrument development, and data analysis
- Coaching calls and writing accountability
Throughout, we maintain clear communication. You will always know where your project stands, what we are working on, and what comes next. We respond to messages within one business day, and we flag issues early rather than at the finish line.
5. Delivery and Follow-Through
We do not consider a project complete just because the deliverable has been handed off. At the close of every engagement, we:
- Deliver final materials with clear documentation
- Hold a wrap-up conversation to review what was accomplished and what comes next
- Remain available for follow-up questions as you move forward (within a three-day scope)
We build engagements with the expectation that many clients will return for future projects — a grant resubmission after an initial review, a next manuscript after a first edit. We see every engagement as the beginning of an ongoing professional relationship, not a one-time transaction.

Our engagements range from short, focused projects (a week-long manuscript edit) to multi-year research and evaluation partnerships. We scope timelines based on your needs and our capacity, and we are honest about availability

If now is not the right time, if the budget does not work, or if your project needs something we cannot offer, that is okay. We would rather be honest than oversell.
